Diane Lichtenberger
Corps de Ballet Mistress, Ballet Instructor and Assistant to the Director
Frank Ohman School of Ballet, New York Dance Theatre
Diane Lichtenberger was trained at the School of American Ballet, under such notables as Felia Doubrovska, Helene Dudin, Murial Stuart, Antonina Tumkovsky, Anatole Oboukhov and Pierre Vladimirov: at the Eglevsky Ballet School with Andre and Leda Eglevsky; and the Juilliard School wih Alfredo Corvino, Jose Limon, Sara Stackhouse and Antony Tudor where she graduated with a B.F.A. Degree in Ballet and Modern Dance. She has appeared in the New York City Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”, on television, in the corps de ballet at Radio City Music Hall, and as a soloist with the Eglevsky Ballet, the Louis Falco Co. and the Jose Limon Company.
Ms. Lichtenberger choreographs pieces for the Ohman School of Ballet and the New York Dance Theatre regularly. Her most recent choreographies were “Carousel Waltz” performed by Ohman students at the “Beyond Ballet 2010” Gala in honor of Jacques d’Amboise and “Waltz” and “Galop” which were performed In April 2011 at the “Once A Dancer” Gala honoring Allegra Kent. Her choreographies were applauded by both Mr. d’Amboise and Ms. Kent who were present at both events.
Ms. Lichtenberger has choreographed over 70 musicals for theater groups on Long Island. She has directed musicals, including “Brigadoon”, “Kiss Me Kate”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Carousel”, “Oklahoma”, and “The World Goes Round”. Diane has been on the faculty of the Ohman School of Ballet since 1989, and was an adjunct professor of dance at Hofstra University for thirteen years. She has directed and choreographed numerous productions for Plaza Theatrical Productions and has also choreographed for the Hofstra Faculty Dance Concerts. She is both Ballet Mistress and Assistant to the director (Frank Ohman) for New York Dance Theatre’s annual production of “The Nutcracker.”
