Donna Floridia
Early Dance Education Specialist & Children’s Ballet Mistress
Frank Ohman School of Ballet, New York Dance Theatre
Donna has over thirty-five years of classical ballet training and has studied various forms of tap, jazz, theater and modern. She is an active participant in national teaching conferences, educational programs and workshops with master teachers.
Ms. Floridia participates in open classes in Manhatten studios and continues training with Frank Ohman in his adult classes. She has received certifications from the New York Dance Guild and American Ballet Theater’s National Training Curriculum. As a member of the School of American Ballet, Donna is invited periodically to observe classes of various levels.
Ms. Floridia has been on the faculty of the Ohman School for twenty years and has developed a unique pre-school and early childhood ballet curriculum which weaves ballet theater skills, choreography, and writing into the program and uses it in the Creative Movement, Introduction to Ballet, and Mommy and Me classes at the school. She has performed supporting roles with the New York Dance Theatre for nineteen years and in her prime performed solo and demi-solo roles in dramatic/liturgical dance.
Donna has been a choreographer, set designer and co-director for the outstanding Bay Shore Cultural Arts Program where she also serves as a board member of the Arts Endowment Fund.
